Trauma Recovery

Traumatic experiences come in many forms and have different manifestations.  One type of effect stemming from a traumatic experience is depression.  Depression occurs when a person delays treatment for a stressful situation, especially emotional and physical stress.

When a person avoids treatment or even acknowledgment of their traumatic experience, he or she may experience “flashbacks” of the experience, which can occur at any time of the day and affect a person’s overall mental health.

Common experiences that usually lead to depression when not addressed early include: loss of love ones, career loss, feeling of failure or repeated failure, lack of confidence, being bullied, experiencing repeated micro aggression, inability to maintain healthy relationships with family, friends, or office workers. By not addressing these issues early on, a person allows these experiences to be repetitive and eventually believes that “there’s no way out.”
